Terms of Use
Effective September 5, 2026
These terms apply to every app published by Forge13 Studios LLC ("Forge13," "we," "us"): FedCompass, Burned, DebtFree, and 1 & A Wake Up. By installing or using an app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, under the rules of the app store you got it from. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app.
2. Not professional advice
FedCompass and DebtFree produce estimates and general information, not financial, legal, or tax advice. Retirement figures depend on rules that change and on facts only your agency, OPM, TSP, SSA, or VA can confirm. Debt plans depend on terms only your lenders can confirm. Verify before you act.
Burned provides general wellness information, not medical advice. Calorie and nutrition estimates — including AI photo estimates — are approximate. Consult a clinician before changing diet or activity, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or are managing menopause-related symptoms.
3. AI features
Some apps use AI models to generate content (meal recognition in Burned; Alex in DebtFree). AI output can be wrong. It is provided as-is, you are responsible for checking it, and you must not rely on it as a substitute for a professional. Don't submit content that is illegal, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share.
4. Accounts
Where an app offers an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 to create an account. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.
5. Purchases
Paid features are sold through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Pricing, billing, and refunds are governed by their terms. One-time purchases are yours for as long as the app is available on that platform. We don't handle payment data.
6. Your content
You own what you enter into the app. You give us the limited right to process it in order to run the app and provide the features you use, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the apps to break the law, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, or harm others. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
8. Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue any app or feature at any time. We'll give reasonable notice for discontinuation of paid features where practical.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The apps are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the apps will be error-free or uninterrupted.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Forge13 is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of the apps. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold Forge13 harmless from claims arising from your misuse of the apps or violation of these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
13. App store terms
If you downloaded an app from Apple's App Store, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and is not responsible for the app, its content, or support. The same applies to Google for Google Play.
14. Changes
We'll post updated terms here with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
